Executive Director, Museum of Performance + Design
Muriel Maffre studied at the Paris Opera Ballet School and danced with both the Hamburg Ballet and Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo before joining the San Francisco Ballet in 1990. Maffre earned her bachelor’s degree while dancing at SFB. Retiring in 2007, she earned a master’s degree in museum studies at John F. Kennedy University in Berkeley, with a long-range goal of promoting creative interchange and developing public knowledge through art and educational practices. She is currently the Executive Director of the Museum of Performance + Design.
